General
Information
The
theme of our classes is simply to have fun. There is no
need to bring a dance partner but you can come along with
as many friends as you like. We rotate partners (unless
you want to stay with your partner) so that you'll learn
faster and better and make new friends.
All
our classes have a separate class for beginners so you'll
be amongst people who are new to dancing salsa and we concentrate
on a few easy moves so you'll be dancing on your first visit.
We have further levels for when you progress which ensures
that you never feel out of your depth.
As
with almost anything, some people progress faster than others.
It's important that everyone progresses at their own speed
- choosing the level they feel comfortable with and only
moving to the next level when ready to do so. Our teachers
are on hand to help and guide if you're not certain which
class you should be in. We also have informative literature
to make your salsa experience more rewarding.
The
dress code is informal. There is no need for any special
clothing or footwear, just come along in something that
you will feel comfortable dancing in that gives freedom
of movement and won't make you too hot. Ideally your shoes
should allow you to turn around easily on the floor. Trainers
for example tend to grip the floor so aren't good but it's
not critical in the early stages.
Come
and Watch!
I strongly recommend you come along and just
watch first what goes on. That way there's no pressure and
I think you'll be surprised how different justdance classes
are to what you're probably thinking a dance class is like!
Just turn up at any class, with friends or on your own,
and watch. Chat to others about their salsa experiences.
Then, if and when you're ready, you can get started! A lot
of people start salsa in exactly this way.
